Cabo San Lucas Guadalajara Banderas Bay The Malecón

Aside from being a thriving coastal town in its own right, Puerto Vallarta is also a great starting point for day trips to the many towns and areas in the area. From the exciting nightlife of Cabo San Lucas, to the exquisite tequila from - you guessed it - Tequila (just outside of Guadalajara), there are many things to do, sites to see and adventures to be had in and around the Puerto Vallarta area.

Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is famous for its casual atmosphere and exciting nightlife. Cabo San Lucas is located where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. The city also has great beaches, lots of shopping and restaurants, and a variety of hotels and resorts for any budget. Be sure to visit the famous stone arch “El Arco,” a magnificent natural rock formation at Land’s End.  [Top]

Guadalajara. Known as the “Pearl of the West”, this beautiful city is both busy metropolis and cultural hub. Filled with museums, fountains and beautiful architecture, this city is a refreshing change of pace from its neighboring beach towns. Nearby is the town of Tequila - it’s not hard to guess what that town is famous for! Spend the day exploring these two festive and culturally rich areas, just a short drive away from Puerto Vallarta.  [Top]

Banderas Bay. Mexico's largest natural bay - and the third largest bay in the world - is home to many of Puerto Vallarta's top destinations. It’s 27 miles long, and is populated with beaches that range from intimate to expansive (smaller beaches are typically found on the North Coast). Swimming, inshore and deep sea fishing, scuba diving, chartered sailing excursions and even kayaking are all available along the Banderas Bay.  [Top]

The Malecón. This beautiful boardwalk travels along the scenic Playa de los Muertos beach, and offers visitors a wide array of delectable eateries and fun entertainment - from local crafts to street performers, a walk along the Malecón is never the same twice. Although one thing never changes - the stunning view of the Pacific. Enjoy the sunset as you take a stroll down this lovely and eclectic walkway.  [Top]
